Eoghan Leadbetter is a woodturner and furniture maker. Having grown up in the family-run Jerpoint Glass Studio, one of Ireland's iconic designer-makers, you could say that craftsmanship is in his blood. However, woodturning is where Eoghan found his passion. From his studio in Stoneyford, Co. Kilkenny, Eoghan designs and creates an exquisite range of handcrafted wooden giftware which focuses on form, finish and function. Designed with everyday use in mind, the collection includes bowls, platters, spoons and servers, hollow forms and small boxes. He also makes small pieces of furniture. Each piece is skillfully hand-turned on the lathe which sees naturally felled, locally sourced wood become the sleek and beautiful finished design. Smoothed and sanded by hand and finished with food safe oil, each piece is unique, signed by Eoghan and details the type of wood it was made from. His work is available from his studio and select craft galleries.
