Two of the ‘MADE in Kilkenny’ group had their work worn at the Oscars on Sunday night………there was great excitement in Kilkenny with the nomination of the Cartoon Saloon’s ‘Secret of Kells’ for best animation. Liselott and Nora who walked the red carpet were adorned with jewelery by Rudolf Heltzeland a headpiece by Rebekah Patterson

6 MADE members exhibited at showcase this week. They were part of the Creative Island area, an exclusive selection of beautifully crafted products imagined, designed and made in Ireland. It featured 58 Irish craft makers and designers from all of Ireland, chosen for their creativity, innovation and craftsmanship

MADE in kilkenny would like the thank everyone for their support over the last five months and especially everyone who shopped with us in Kilkenny this Christmas. The shop was a huge success and really encouraging for the future of crafts in the county. We will reopen next week from Monday to Wednesday with a 20% sale on all remaining stock in the shop. In the mean time have a peaceful, Happy Christmas…….

MADE member Andrew Ludick opened his solo Christmas show at the Waterfront Gallery, Westport last night. The show runs until the end of January and features all new work by Andrew. Its a beautiful space and the work looks right at home there. Its so colourful and bright it is bound to bring sunshine into your day……..if your down Westport way call by. The launch of the pop up shop on Thursday night was a great success with lots of people stopping by. Mayor Malcolm Noonan gave a lovely speech about the importance of people spending money in their local communities and the great work the group has done for craft in Kilkenny. If you haven’t visited yet then get in there…….the stock is changing every few days as things sell the makers are restocking with new work so it is advised if you can make a habit of popping in over the coming weeks, do so……..

The MADE pop up shop is coming together, by Saturday it will be looking fab. There is a great selection in the shop downstairs with thirteen of the designer/makers displaying their work and an exhibition upstairs representing all the members. All price ranges are catered for with a gaurentee to find  something for everyone. It is a great opportunity for you to buy guaranteed 100% MADE in kilkenny and not only that but this is a great example of the best that Irish craft has to offer, Kilkenny is very fortunate to have such talent………….The shop in Tasha Interiors, Kiran st. Kilkenny will be open daily from this sat 28th every day until Christmas Eve (open late on Thursdays)
