DSC_0101Well its that time of year again and despite the weather MADE are in the process of transforming the old ‘Red Aesthetic’ shop (this has moved to the high street, opposite the town hall and is now called ‘Michelle O’Connell Jewellery’) on Rose Inn st., Kilkenny into a one stop gift shop for the month of December. Thirteen makers from around the County under one roof, everything for sale in the shop is MADE in kilkenny…….now that’s something in these days of imports.  We plan to be open from Wed 1st of Dec. see you there…

MADE member Karen Morgan has just opened a new shop in Thomastown. Karen was based in the Earthworks studio forthe past few years but sense winning the Dragons Den last year she has gone from strength to strength. Read an article which was in the Irish Times Magazine on Saturday here.

 MADE in kilkenny are traveling their ’sense of place’ show to the Docks Arts Center in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co.Leirtirm. The Exhibition opens this Saturday at 2.30pm and runs for the month of November.

MADE in kilkenny are getting into the Savour mood by having an exhibition of tabletop craft in the National Craft Gallery. The show will run for Saturday and Sunday. You will be able to get ideas on how to mix a collection of local craft to create an unique feel to your dining table, not to be missed.

Also The Castlecomer Discovery Park and Craft Yard is where to go this bank holiday Monday, as part of the Savour Kilkenny festival you can see some beautifully styled tables by one of Ireland’s leading interior stylists incorporating the best of local food and craft. Be inspired with imaginative ideas for a Harvest table, a Halloween children’s table and a Christmas table. Enjoy the fruits of Samhain with a seasonal display of harvest-time fruit and vegetables and get creative (and sustainable!) for Christmas with a display of seasonal gift ideas mixing local craft and artisan food. A selection of exciting dishes will also be created in the award-winning Jarrow Café using local seasonal ingredients.

MADE member Andrew Ludick was featured in today’s Irish Times Magazine………..

‘American ceramic artist Andrew Ludick has been living in Castlecomer since 2003, sharing a workshop with his wife, potter Rosemarie Durr. Castlearch Pottery update

Castlearch Pottery have just updated their web site with a new look.  In their blog page there is an introduction to The Celtic Roots Studio, a great place to shop.   They will endeavor to update their blog on a regular basis.  The on line Shop lists the full range from Castle Arch Pottery in both their best selling glazes Hampton Blue and Caspian Blue.  You can also see how the pottery is made with the YouTube link.
