‘American ceramic artist Andrew Ludick has been living in Castlecomer since 2003, sharing a workshop with his wife, potter Rosemarie Durr. Castlearch Pottery have just updated their web site with a new look.  In their blog page there is an introduction to The Celtic Roots Studio, a great place to shop.   They will endeavor to update their blog on a regular basis.  The on line Shop lists the full range from Castle Arch Pottery in both their best selling glazes Hampton Blue and Caspian Blue.  You can also see how the pottery is made with the YouTube link.

Jackie & Ed Keilthy ( www.jekjewellery.com) have Just moved into Clay Creations Ceramic Studio at Low Street, Thomastown Co.Kilkenny.

For the next nine months or so they will be running the studio for Ceramicist Brid Lyons of Clay Creations, a fellow member of Made in Kilkenny

 Studio in Thomastown

 Jackie & Edhad thought of opening their own shop, but were reluctant to commit given the uncertain economic times. So it was perfect timing when Brid advertised for a potter or jeweller to take up residence and run the studio while she is on maternity leave.

Two of the ‘MADE in Kilkenny’ group had their work worn at the Oscars on Sunday night………there was great excitement in Kilkenny with the nomination of the Cartoon Saloon’s ‘Secret of Kells’ for best animation. Liselott and Nora who walked the red carpet were adorned with jewelery by Rudolf Heltzeland a headpiece by Rebekah Patterson

6 MADE members exhibited at showcase this week. They were part of the Creative Island area, an exclusive selection of beautifully crafted products imagined, designed and made in Ireland. It featured 58 Irish craft makers and designers from all of Ireland, chosen for their creativity, innovation and craftsmanship

MADE in kilkenny would like the thank everyone for their support over the last five months and especially everyone who shopped with us in Kilkenny this Christmas. The shop was a huge success and really encouraging for the future of crafts in the county. We will reopen next week from Monday to Wednesday with a 20% sale on all remaining stock in the shop. In the mean time have a peaceful, Happy Christmas…….

MADE member Andrew Ludick opened his solo Christmas show at the Waterfront Gallery, Westport last night. The show runs until the end of January and features all new work by Andrew. Its a beautiful space and the work looks right at home there. Its so colourful and bright it is bound to bring sunshine into your day……..if your down Westport way call by.
